Writing postcards tomorrow. Appreciating Rumi right now (starting my day with The Guest House). The reminder to make space for me seems to be coming from many interactions in my life. Thank you for the reminder. π
Thanks for reading Melody. And if you havenβt checked it out, βGoldβ really is the best Rumi translation Iβve ever encountered and she is set to have a new book out soon too. πβοΈπ
Yes. Whenever I get stuck in the well-worn grooves of my brain- I try to remind myself of this - the system stinks bad like the bucket of dog poop at the shelter. Practically knocks your nose off your face.
Thank you for this invaluable reminder. Holding space for myself to be embodied in my Mal-ness and thatβs good enough.
Love it. To know that the system stinks is not to despair or relinquish hope, but to be clear-eyed and not identify with this cause of suffering that affects us all. Kindness = Febreze. An air freshener amid the stink.
Sebene, I'm really looking forward to Make Sacred Space--and you're so rightβthe system stinks! (And thank you for reading and linking to my essayβit makes me so happy that you read it this way.)
My eyebrows still havenβt left my hairline after reading that article about hormone therapy for evangelical Christians. The cognitive dissonance and mental gymnastics they must go through to justify their use of hormone therapy to confirm their gender while actively denying trans and nonbinary people the same right are baffling.
I really admire Kristen Neff's work. And I really love your addition of THE SYSTEM STINKS as an addition to her framework! This is going to be immediately useful. Like today kind of useful. Thank you!β¨οΈπβ¨οΈ
Same! And to your point, Selene, on feeling like βI canβt even effect change in my own little life let alone across the country and around the globe.β The size of these damn boats we need to somehow 180β¦ and/also, only affects our strategy, not the crucial need to turn them, right? βͺοΈβ¨
What genius magic is Kening Zhu? Thank you for recommending them. π©΅ Iβve been contemplating a new portal creation for a while nowβ¦ Your new site looks great, Sebene!
Yay! Kening is amazing. And thank you, I love it! π»
Also β βmindfulness is a misnomerβ ππ½
So inspiring! What website platform do you use? Podia?

We could all practice some Mal-ness (but substitute our names of course, though Mal-ness IS the coolest!). xox
Not blushing. Ok, sort of blushing. π«Άπ»
