I love hearing you play with other words instead of trauma...ancestral confusion, messes, troubles. I realized we don't have a word for "trauma" in Amharic (that I know of).
And the word for "boundaries" is only used for things or over indulgence.
"Gedeb yelatem, zembela taweralech"- she has no self restrain/limits, she keeps talking
"Gedeb yelelew menged" - a road with no boundaries/borders
But we never say, "gedeb yasfelegegnal", aka I need boundaries - π I reckon we won't be understood if we say this.
My friend was also mentioning that they don't have a Spanish word for boundaries like it's used here. Which clearly indicates that our culture doesn't allow for any of these boundaries/spaces/freedoms to be oneself.
Ooof, the POWER in this one! Merci! Shukran! Asante!
I watched the 'Meditation Party' episode yesterday and ADORED the connection made between intuition as a presence and knowing in the "little body" (as in, this human one) and in the "big Body" (as in the universe/consciousness/etc). So this teaching around re-membering and embodiment - as an erotic practice - could connect to that too, yes? As in, is the erotic a way to be present in this flesh and bones body, as well as a way to FEEL/remember we are part of a larger one? It sounds like the most fun way! :)
Hail Audre Lorde! I love your "mini-erotic disruptions". I'm not sure I buy the "you're only given what you can handle" quote. I heard it a lot in recovery circles. It wreaks a little of blame/shame (maybe?). Here's one of my favorite quotes from Pema Chodren. "Pain isn't a punishment; joy isn't a reward. That shifted my entire understanding of karma. I really appreciate these newsletters! xo
The end of βοΈ season & more water is much needed .. missed all of summer basically for the third year in a row. Next year I am celebrating my birthday for me not for my family not for my friends and not even for my husband.
Yes encore. As in dys-functional families of which I am a member. I do not know of any fully functional families. I do not know if any exist in our age of anxiety and loss of connection with nature and the transcendent.
... today's full moon sharing, was sooo π... I'm very much on a similar page as I lean into my crone-hood. as always, thanks for sharing your thoughts, your experiences, your... you...ππ»π π π π§ββοΈπΏ

Re-membering reminds me of a putting back together of what has been dismembered. Within the word "dismembered" is Dys, the lord of the underworld.
Yes! Love dismember/remember! And I did not know that about Dys! Thank you. So fascinating. xox
