The Bone People is a stunningly beautiful novel by NZ author Keri Hulme. Sadly it's not in audible or kindle format but maybe a read for when you return! π§‘ππ
Whenever I read you, I am kinder to myself. Thank you for that. Wishing you all good things - good news on your scans and good immersion! May ease, awe and delight be your steady companions on your journey.
So happy youβre going to NZ! My favorite country, so far! I tried to marry-into a Kiwi life but failed on that front. Drove the whole S Island solo years ago. Dunedin has lovely cliffs and sights and I have lovely friends there if youβre in a pinch. Praying scans were clear!!! π
Well Sebene - whatever the scan results, it is clear from the comments that we, your spiritual community, will support and love you through it. My first thought when you mentioned New Zealand was Lucy Lawless (Xena Warrior Princess energy to you!). And today, the final Jeopardy question was about New Zealand! (Definitely a positive sign from the universe even though I didn't know the answer.) Looking forward to hearing about your adventures. Courageous loving energy comforts scanxiety - hugs!
Thank you for beautifully demonstrating that sometimes our plans need to fade so that we can honor our truth. May you feel held in lovingkindness during your scans and the wait for what they reveal.
I loved this letter, thank you! "No story, just melting salt water" is exactly it. When I had to have some medical testing recently I found myself listening to Bill Callahan's "Too Many Birds" a bunch because like tears and smiles sometimes music moves things around. That song does the strangest thing, repeating one line over and over again but adding one new word each time. I think it made the waiting part of me feel noticed and attended to. Thank you for sharing your reminders to self so generously.
Thank you, Sebene. Iβm the worst patient, son of a doctor and a nurse, and medical examination gives me the heeby jeebies too! Actually itβs all examination that is anxiety inducing, itβs hard for me to believe I havenβt failed in some way when a medical report comes back βbad.β Your words on accepting what is hit home for me, and that is a reminder we can all use anytime. Iβm grateful for the authentic sharing over what youβd initially thought you should share, much loveπdoug
Sebene... I'm grateful for the diversion in the original intent of this moons offering, to what you instead ended up writing about and sharing. some of what you realized for you in your recent interactions, is resonating with me in my current life situations... Iim.π some connections more clearly ππ»π
also, may your scans be clear, your travel be safe and easeful. may your heart be full ππΏ - sonta

Yes to The Bone People by Keri Hulme - it is one of the most moving books I have ever read. Worth making space for a paperback copy in your backpack
Oh wow. Ok. Gonna look into this. Thank you Karin! π
