Gawd soooo much joy I got form this posting. So much. The Black Boy Joy made me cry. I can't explain it (or maybe it really is just Jupiter in Cancer), but I feel genuinely like I've turned a corner of some kind, like I feel on the other side of something in a way I can't explain and I need to share this with everyone right now because it feels big and expansive and collective. I have such hope, more than I've had in a really long time. Everything you have brought to our attention here has only made that feeling stronger. I feel like we're actually gonna be ok. Some kind of tide is turning, I can feel it in my bones. I am so grateful for you Seb, and everyone in this community. Blessings to you all. (And I'm bi so Pedro Pascal is very much in the running for me, as that last one notes is not a surprise as I am, also, alive. lolol)
Random question even though you don't have one on this article but what do you use to make your digital collages? They're so beautiful & I feel the itch to create!
Hi Mackenzie. Thank you. My collages are paper based. I did a series of collage workshops a couple of years ago. I put them on YouTube. Here’s the one for the solstice… timely. 😊 https://youtu.be/veMstqv_6EY?si=dE7ieN6nWFfS4-1x
the Black Boy Joy story and videos within, sooo beautiful!! 😃❤... agree... can they be in charge of everything?!? breaking down barriers and filling up the spaces with joy, and ease of...being...oneself 🙌❤🙌❤
I'm so glad you got to go away on that writing retreat and I am so here for (and excited about) your writing and creative work coming to fruition! I'm feeling it too-- the necessity of creative expression as a way of staying committed to more aliveness in these bleak times. And bless that Pedro Pascal one.
Yessss, “Black boy joy to the world.” Thank you for sharing this. And the fact that they found joy in matcha- bonus! 💚🖤
I sent Black Boy Joy to the men in my lives. It was so refreshing! Much needed in the swampy prevailing zeitgeist .
I love it. So sweet! 😊🌸🌈
