I'm coming back to society after a weeklong retreat and your email in my inbox was one of the few welcome notifications I returned to. Thank you for shining so brightly and sharing your story with us - your wisdom never fails to delight 💖
Every time your newsletter hits my inbox, I think ah, finally, a little treat! Thank you for continuing to share this writing. Sending so much love, always.
The mantra “right now it’s like this” is a regular in my practice too! It brings so much ease and reminds me that most of what goes on in my experience is not a problem to be solved or do anything about, it just is. And then I can related more skillfully to it. Other phrases that support me are “relaxed persistence” and “I see you, I feel you” Excited for the next meditation party! 🎉
Oh wow, thank you for reading Memory Piece! It makes me so happy to know that it resonated with you. Grateful for your words as always, and sending you lots of good energy. XO
Thank YOU Lisa for writing it. I could relate to so much esp of NYC in the nineties: my best girlfriend who is Japanese American worked as a curator, while in grad school I did a brief stint at a “dot com,” and I lived on 13th and B right down from a squat that was raided in the middle of the night by cops in riot gear and our entire block was shut down for a week… But mostly I just lived your langage and the way you depicted these three women and the revolutionary power of love and community. 💜👏🏾💜
Grateful you’re out there in the world just being you. Really appreciate the dynamic you, Dan and Jeff have. Everyone’s personalities makes meditation seem possible and the benefits real for anyone who is open to it. Plus you’re all a bit sweary so it’s not so much precious navel gazing. Sending good vibes your way.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write these sharings. There are so many things I resonate with and I am enriched and enlivened by your authentic voice.
I knew a lot of folks who had "right now it's like this" as a tattoo back when I first got sober 11 years ago. I too have buddhist "instructions" emblazened on either arm. The awareness of the moons nodes as well as my natal nodes changed the way Ican feel into astrology.
I would love to practice with you in person.....wish they had scholorships for airfare ;-).
My latest enquiry; I'm wanting a sangha that doesn't define me for being a member (of its sangha) hehehe. Maybe it's called "this life"?
I appreciate your open heartedness and your honesty about your process. I attended by zoom last fall's meditation Party. I really enjoyed the format it was so refreshing compared to the retreats I've attended in the past. I've tired of the religious connection and seriousness of it all.
I'd like to attend the other meditation parties through zoom but I don't see that as an option. will it be offered as we get closer to the start?
It makes my heart happy to hear you are spending time with Jeff, Dan & Bianca as you March through this season. Your meditation parties provide a generous glimpse into the love y'all share, and I can practically hear the laughter! I look forward to this new gem as I too wade through grey snowy mornings, craving warmth and ease. May you find warmth and ease and acceptance of the curriculum in your cozy morning meditations, in the love of your friends, and in the well wishes of all of us who have the good fortune to subscribe to Ancestors to Elements.
Sebene...thx, as always for your sharings. thinking of you often, as you get through your AP 'courses'... may they wrap up soon, honor you with graduation, and you can just rest, be, and do what you do with much more ease 🙏🏻🙌! 🌌🧚♂️

I have "fear is a prison" on my forearm. it reminds me of my deepest wish, living a life in freedom, with less self-made restrictions out of fear.
What a profound wish!! May it come to fruition! 🫶🏾

I did not know that tattoo instructions were a thing. Thank you! As I commented earlier, Tattoos for President!
Yes, these Aries South Node eclipses are messing with me! And knowing my nodes has explained A LOT!
And lol about sanghas... that culture/cult meme summed it up for me!
Great post! Thank you!
